About Me

¡Hola! Hello, Premium Language Instruction. Advanced Certified Teacher and Translator with over 20 years experience. 16 years living in Latin America. 7 years online. 1 Free class per package! Domino el español. Let's get started! My interests have always been in language, travel and outdoor sports, but I like learning new completely random things that have nothing to do with my main interests. I like science and wildlife. I was born and raised in New Jersey, about 15 minutes from Manhattan, New York City in the northeast of the United States of America. I'm probably a bit more excited about language than even my students are. I hope it rubs off on them.

Me as a Teacher

I never thought I would become a teacher. I had planned on being an interpreter, but since I was 18 years old I started tutoring and then one after another opportunity came up in which I found myself teaching. I realized that I loved teaching. Since I didn't go through the normal route to get a teaching certificate in college, when I finally did start teaching I put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best teacher I could be and to really reach my students. That is how I work.

My Lessons & Teaching Style

My classes are private, so I try to customize the class for each student and to identify their needs. It actually takes a few classes to do this, which is difficult because the student usually expects you to figure it out quickly. I try to help each person to reach their language goals of fluency and to give them the skills to be a better language learner so that they aren't dependent upon me or any other teacher or material. My main goal is for the student to speak 80% of the time in class.
